I promised a full rave on this one in my July favourites, so here it is!
When it comes to mascaras, I tend not to follow the trends. I've tried heaps of mascaras that have been raved about in the beauty blogging world, and they have all failed to live up to their expectations. Does anyone remember how much air time Maybelline Great Lash got? Terrible mascara. Terrible. Then again, it may be the holy grail to someone else, so I shouldn't be too harsh, should I?
I first heard about Maybelline The Falsies well over a year ago, courtesy of Tanya Burr. She raved on and on about it, yet I still didn't bother giving it a whirl, for two reasons. One: I was happy with my current mascara combination, two: refer to aforementioned rant about not following trends. Well, I was browsing in Priceline a little while back and saw that all Maybelline mascaras were $10. I chucked it in the basket, deciding to give it a whirl, but not with high hopes.
Well wasn't I wrong.
This mascara is brilliant. I've never been able to get this sort of result with a single mascara before, its always taken two coats of two different products. And by result, I'm talking long, thick, separated-yet-still-just-the-right-amount-of-clumpy lashes. It comes out jet black, and lasts the whole day, holds a curl magnificently, and there's no crispiness to be seen.
The ONLY issue I have with this mascara is that towards the end of the day it does tend to smudge a but under my eyes, but when I say end of the day, I've usually been wearing it for around thirteen to fourteen hours, so I can;t really fault it for not lasting that long. I also feel like this could be remedied with the waterproof version. This may be something I invest in.
Its official! I'm impressed!
