Settle in ladies and gentlemen, this is another long post!
I have a fair few M.A.C eyeshadows, but there's a few that I constantly come back to time and time again. In my opinion, M.A.C do the best eyeshadows, closely followed by Urban Decay (a full review of the Naked palette is on its way). M.A.C eyeshadows have the best colour range imaginable, and the quality of them is fantastic. They aren't chunky like some eyeshadows, and they blend really nicely. I feel like I can make this assertion because I've tried many cheaper eyeshadows in the past and I often wondered why my make up looked terrible - I wasn't using the right eyeshadow! Before I start to sound like a walking billboard for M.A.C eyeshadow, I challenge you to find me a person who can do a successful smokey eye with chunky eyeshadow that falls down all over your face. Just you try!
Bringing myself back to the actual eyeshadows in my possession, I have seven favourites, which sounds like a lot, but I use them all on a regular basis, while the other shades I own sort of fade into obscurity - which is odd because they are all lovely colours. I might just reel off the list and tell you exactly why I like them and how I like to wear them.

1. Omega
This is far and away the best colour I have ever tried for my brows. I am a natural blonde, and while my hair has become quite dark as I've grown older, my eyebrows have always been very light. As in, with nothing through them, you can barely see them on my face. I've tried many brow pencils before that are supposedly for blondes, but these were so dark, I ended up with a definite Brooke Shields thing going on. And while I think Brooke Shields has fabulous eyebrows, suit me they do not. Omega is pretty much the powder version of M.A.C's 'Fling' Brow Pencil, which is great for lighter blondes who just want to fill in their brows, not darken them.
2. Patina
This is a great all-rounder. I would describe it as a lovely shimmery goldy-brown, with a bit of a green undertone to it. When I say green, I think it is very subtle, but its there. This colour can be worn as part of a darker brown smokey eye, with something like Mulch blended into the crease, or it can be worn the way I wear it. I tend to blend it into the lid, run some Coffee Eye Pencil at the lash line, and blend it in, then line the waterline with Coffee, and finally smudge some Patina under the lower lash line. I would pair this with a nude glossy lip. The other way I tend to wear Patina is, again, blended into the eye, with black gel liner at the lashline, nothing under the eyes, and a red lip. I would wear this more as a evening look, but I've been known to wear it during the day too. The great thing about Patina is that you can make a very wearable day time look with it, but it can also be amped up for night time wear too.
3. Shadowy Lady
I would describe this one as a very dark matte purple. I tend to use this as an eyeliner, where I feel that black would be too harsh. I often wear this as a liner with Naked Lunch, or Sable blended into the lid. In addition to being a slightly softer alternative to black eyeshadow, I find that Shadowy Lady has a bit less fall down than Carbon eyeshadow does.
4. Naked Lunch
So pretty. So so so pretty. This is a pale, almost frosty shimmery pink colour, and is so versatile. One of my most worn day to day make up looks features Naked Lunch. I wear it on the lids, with nothing else, and simply smudge some Coffee eye pencil into my upper lash line, so that it thickens my lash line without being visible. I then apply tonnes of black mascara, and usually pair it with a fuchsia pink lip (either M.A.C's Impassioned, or Revlon's Smitten). I also team this with Satin Taupe and Shadowy Lady for a purple smokey eye.
5. Jaunty
Sadly, this one was limited edition, as part of their Hey Sailor! collection. I have to say, although I only purchased this one item from that collection, I think thats the best one they've brought out in a long time. This eyeshadow is very similar to Naked Lunch, in that it is a pale shimmery frosty colour, but this one is a greeny toned champagne colour. Again, it is so so pretty, and I wear it in the same way as Naked Lunch, except I usually pair this with a red lip instead of pink.
6. Club
I include this as one of my favourites, though I don't actually wear it that often. This is only because it requires a very particular kind of look to wear it with. Club is one of those strange colours that is different depending on what light you view it in. I would say that the basis of it is black, and is shot through with brown, green and gold. Once is is blended out, it creates the easiest smokey eye imaginable. I literally just apply this to my lids, blend it out really well, smudge a bit under the lash line, and then add a tiny bit of black eyeshadow at the outer corner, and I'm good to go. The great thing about it having so many colours mixed through, is once you blend it, the lids stay a lovely blacky-greeny colour, while the crease goes a dark brown shade, making it look like you've put in much more effort than you actually have. Its great if you only have a few minutes to get ready for a night out.
7. Sable
And finally, we have Sable, which is a lovely coppery shimmery brown. Like with many of the shadows I've mentioned, I just blend this into the lid and add some Shadowy Lady to the lashline for a bit of extra something, and I'm ready to go.
So you can see the theme continuing with my favourite eyeshadows - they're all shades that can be worn really easily, either on their own or with a little bit of help from another colour. I do have other shadows that I wear, but these ones are definitely my favourites.
