Product Not Worth The Hype: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze

I've said it before and I will say it again. When I say that I hate a product, I am aways mindful that someone else could absolutely love it. Just because I say I don't like it doesn't mean its a terrible product. It just means that for me it didn't work out so well.

With this product however, I'm being extra cautious. I keep up with a large number of beauty blogs and beauty YouTubers, and I think this has to be one of the most hyped up products I've ever heard of. Which makes me want to cringe and shy away into a dark corner with shame when I say I think its rubbish.
There. I said it.
*Cue angry mob with pitch forks coming to exact their revenge*
Alright that might be a touch dramatic, but that's the way I feel about declaring my hatred for this product, and I should probably start explaining why.
I don't like the colour. Its a bit dark and muddy and to me it isn't a pretty colour, when its in the pot, or when its swatched. When I blend it on to my eyelids, no matter how light a hand I use, it always ends up too dark and it doesn't seem to sit right. It creases and smudges and just isn't quite right!
I tried it on its own, on the recommendation of several YouTubers, who swear by just applying a tiny bit on their lids on 'lazy days'. I tried that and it looked terrible. I tried applying it with a brush and it looked terrible. I even tried it as an eyeshadow base, and put a shimmery brown eye shadow on top and it looked terrible.
All in all, what I really have to say about this product and me, is that we really didn't get along very well.
Has anyone else tried this? What are your thoughts?
