Be Still My Beating Heart

Be still my beating heart, Bioderma has arrived on Australian shores. Its expensive, but its here.

I should clarify that I hadn't actually used Bioderma before I saw it sitting proudly on the shelf in Priceline, because I didn't think I could. More on that later. But being the skincare and beauty addict that I am, I got super excited anyway.
And then I picked up the little bottle and read the blurb on the back. 'Sans parfum', it said. My face doesn't like anything that's artificially fragranced, so this was music to my ears. Or eyes should I say.  I'm not sure why I hadn't picked up on the fragrance aspect before, but I maybe just assumed that it would be artificially perfumed.

Having used my new discovery for little over a week, I can already say that I absolutely understand the hype surrounding this product. It removes my make up excellently, leaving my face ready for a second, deeper cleanse. I've also given it a whirl as a 'fixer-upper', having made a slight boo boo with my eyeliner. A cotton bud dipped into Bioderma serves as a fantastic remedy for any slight mistakes you might make, whether it be with eye or lip products.

It didn't break me out, which is my second worry with new products, aside from the fragrance issue. Now I understand the beauty lover's great dilemma. Its not that easy to get hold of. I know I just said I got mine from Priceline, which is the equivalent of Boots or CVS in Australia, but at the moment they only have the mini 100ml size, and the 250ml size, and they're expensive.

I have been doing some online research though, and there's a website where I can get hold of the massive 500ml bottle for $39.95, which is still not exactly cheap. but I think given my first impressions of this, I'd be happy to fork over that.

Secondly, may I introduce my new BFF. Hydraluron. Now again, for the same reasons that made me hesitant about Bioderma, I thought Hydraluron would either cause an allergic reaction on my face, or break me out, but I am happy to say it has done neither.

I'll fill you in on the Hydraluron craze, shall I?

Its basically the latest serum du jour, with promises to hydrate the skin from within, to eventually lessen the need for topical moisturisation. Well, any girl with skin as dry as mine can only take that as a positive, so I've been giving it a whirl, and oh boy, its a good'un.

I smooth a small amount of this on after cleansing and before moisturiser, and after only a week, I've noticed my face feeling a lot smoother, and slightly...plumper, for lack of a better word.

I think there's a little way to go before I can give my final verdict on these two cult beauty classics, but my initial thoughts are that I have two new items firmly fixed in my skin care regime.
