I do quite like Spring. A lovely day for me is one where the sky is blue, the sun is shining, but its still not madly hot. The heat brings out a side of me that I'd much rather keep hidden. Plus, where's the fun in it being so hot that your make up just slides off your face the minute you step out of the door? Welcome to summers in Australia!
But Spring is something else. A chance to bust out the bright colours, and scale it back a bit base-wise. Following is my list of essentials for Spring make-up and hair...
Lightweight foundation - Clinique CC Cream - Light
Keep the base light and fresh. Nobody wants to be wearing a cake-like face of foundation when the weather is starting to warm up. Well I don't anyway.
Cream blush - Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel in 'Inspiration'
Same goes for the blush. A cream product will not only look more natural, and give a nice healthy glow, but it will sit a bit nicer on top of your base too. A nice dusky pink is perfect for Spring. And yes, I am also aware that I sound like a broken record with this blush, but what can I say? I'm just so happy to have found a cream blush that I actually get along with!

Again, once warmer weather hits, I'm all about the bright colours. Something about a peachy-pink lipstick screams warm Spring afternoons to me.
Mascara - Maybelline The Falsies
Mascara is a given, no matter the season, and you all know this is my one and only at the moment.
Round hairbrush - Models Prefer Styling Radial Volumising Brush
I like low-maintenance hair in the warmer months. I blow dry my hair just using my fingers until its about 80% dry, and then I take to it with my trusty round brush to just give it a bit of oomph, before I finish with a generous dose of Tresseme Extra Hold Salon Finish Hairspray. I think this style of softly-styled hair is perfect in addition to the also soft make up.
You get the deal - keep it light!
