I'm not going to lie, I can sometimes be quite high-maintenance on the make up front. But sometimes its nice to tone it down a bit, and use as few products as possible. I like the idea that I could get myself all made up with only five products, but prior to this post, I had always laughed off the idea that I could actually achieve this. But alas! After some careful consideration, and lengthy perusal of my make up collection, I think I've finally got it!
The beauty of a lot of beauty products is that they can often be used for more than what's stated on the label. There's no better example than with make up brushes. I use the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush for my concealer. I've never in my life used it for eyeshadow. So, you will observe a couple of 'double-duty' products, which can be used for a couple of different things. These items are your best friend when you're trying to achieve the best possible look with as few products as possible.

Now, its also important to clarify that the five products in question does not include brushes/tools. Come on people, thats just too hard!
1. Clinique CC Cream
I chose this one over my regular foundation as I find I can get away without a powder when I use this. While it doesn't give the most matte finish, I find that I am still within the realms of a dewy finish, instead of being frighteningly shiny. It helps that I can whack it on with my fingers and be done with it.
2. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I tend to flit between this and my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection, but the Rimmel offering is slightly less heavy-duty, and perfect for days where I just need a little bit of help in the under eye department.
3. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
My mascara of the moment. You'll either love it or hate it, but I for one absolutely love it. Its buildable, never flakes, never goes crispy and is super-duper black.
4. Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel in 'Inspiration'
This is one of those fabulous double-duty products. Apply it to the apples of the cheeks for a bit of healthy colour, and then dab a little bit onto your lips for a subtle tint.

5. M.A.C Omega Eyeshadow
Yet another double-duty product ladies and gentlemen! I use Omega to define my brows, but it also works perfectly as a subtle wash of colour on the lids to give the look a little somethin' somethin'.
So there it is! My fabulous five product face. There will always, of course, be times when I pile so much make up on to my face, and then when I think I couldn't possibly manage any more, I manage to squeeze in a few more. But its also nice to know that I can be low-maintenance too!
